Here is the process.
Advertise in a news paper for 4 weeks
Advesie in website for 4 weeks
Advertise in company's location for 4 weeks
All the above ads running consecutively.
Then there might be 4 weeks silent period
File a form with DOL with all this

Looks like they have begun processing applications filed in July 07.

I-140 APPLIED ON JULY 06TH 2007
I-485 APPLIED ON JULY 27 2007.
I-140 APPROVED ON JAN 15TH 2008

I see people not supporting the CIR which was suppose to be a pro Immigration bill, no matter which part of the society it was supporting. My question is Are you guys out here a Pro or an anti immigration forum?

Adding to the scenario above, what if the old company (which got I-140 approval) agrees to continue the GC process? In that case, can't we apply for H1 extension with Company B using approved I-140 with Company A? After all, GC is a future employment application

I attended the event at UMass Lowell. Congressman Marty Meehan and new governor elect Deval Patrick were at the event. The topic of discussion was "global warming". Both governor and congressman took off after the event but I had a chance to talk to their staff.
One of congressman's staff went through the folder I provided with IV documents but he works for energy related issues and will pass to the staff dealing with immigration. He did provide me the senior staff member who looks into immigration issues. I'm going to email and try and meet him. Congressman Meehan is part of the judiciary committee related to immigration.
MA members> I'll send out a separate email to you guys and each one of us should contact and educate the congressman though his main focus seems to be the climate change issue.

There we go again. Now we need to create another ombudsman to make sure current ombudsman office works straight...:p
Call the BLACKHOLE aka cis office, get info about your case, and note the person's badge you spoke, time and day of your call, put it in a letter along with file 7001 and send to ombudsman's office (also mention in the letter that you filed 7001 couple of times earlier). You need to get hold of someone in ombudsman's office and be in constant touch through email or something...You should have been on the conference call past week...Next time you can participate and ask directly...

Dear Friends,
Please advise me for the following relating to my birth certificate that I have to use for Immigration purposes.
One or two alphabets of my name on birth certificate are different from my passport and secondary school. In addition, my family name is not included in the certificate. Rest of the information is all fine and matching with my passport and secondary school certificates( like DOB, Parents, Place etc)
I have some questions
1. Does the birth certificate issued by Indian consulate in foreign country is deemed acceptable?
2. Do I need to furnish any kind of affidavit along with original birth certificate, if yes, please share the format for those, who is writing these affidavit and any specific stamp paper/value etc?
3. Any guidelines in order to correct the information in my original certificate.
4. Any other vital information in this regard

My lawyer filed my Labor certification stating that the job requires 'BS degree in CS'. My labor got approved last month.
I hold a MS degree in CS and BS degree in Industrial Engg.
Now while I am about to file for I-140, I am getting information from various sources that my bachelor's degree has to be in CS, irrespective of holding a master's degree in CS.
Has anyone faced similar situation? How can I resolve this issue?
Please help as I almost spent 4 years in LC backlog queue!!!!!!!!

Yes, definitely update the I-9. Also as rockstart suggested you are now in AoS status or in legalese - "Period of Stay Authorized by the Secretary of Homeland Security".
Also note there is nothing such as as dual H1-B and AoS status at any time.

A huge chunk of Indians who come and file for asylum are fraud cases - citing ridiculous and manufactured cases of political/religious persecution! The article itself cites experts and analysts with their surprise. Somehow don't know why the people of the states mentioned in the article are so desperate ! Dynamic and risk taking, certainly they are, no doubt ... but looks like they don't see the limit... crossing levels of illegality and greed. Disgrace to the country!

Hi,
My wife is waiting on her H-1B approval. She is on a H-4 currently. The company that sponsored her H-1B is an american fortune 500. This will be her first H-1B and she is in the USA for 11 months now. I have a few questions:
1. To apply for the SSN she would need the original I-797 and the I-94, correct?
2. After she applies at the SSN office, will she be able to see the number immediately (and wait for the card) ?
3. How long does it normally take them for issuing a SSN for a person like her? (H-4 to first time H-1B)?

This year, BusinessWeek published the PT MBA rankings. But in my view, there is no real market value for PT MBA Rankings. Employers/Recruiters don't really care for PT MBA rankings & they in fact still go with the same FT MBA ranking perception...
