Hello friends,
wanted to see the timeline of EAD renewals currently..I have a EAD renewal receipt notice date of June 18th......was wondering how many days is TX taking to approve the notice....
Did aanyone around June 15 -June 20th get any approval yet?
My wife's EAD renewal receipt notice date is June 19th - close to yours. Also at TX.
Lets keep each other informed on any developments.
As per USCIS website, the processing time at TX service center is 3 months for EAD.
I hope its sooner!

Since your Father in law is a Central Govt Employee, i believe the reason they issued a white 221g is because he may not have provided a NOC (No objection Certificate) from the govt which should state that he is just travelling to US for tourism purposes and not for job related travel. This was how i had to get my father in law to get a NOC inorder to get his stamping done. Once they saw the NOC, they granted the visa.
My 2 cents.
He had the NOC with him and he did mention it to the Visa Officer about the NOC and she mentioned its not required and asked him to email his CV to the email address listed in the white slip for further processing.

Mark my words.... President Bush will single handedly make sure to pass the bill as it is.....
No one can stop it.
Do you all think it is just a co incidense that all the dates became current just when this bill (which was supposed to be in grave  ) is revived by those who extremely opposed it?
Do you know how many people will stop giving a damn, because they just filed their 485 s?
People like me who are result of bad practice employers are still here, and lucky ones will depart.....
We have been dealt a crucial blow here.

The other day, three guys, a Pakistani, an Indian, and a Czech, and one Serb girl (originally from the beautiful city of Belgrade) met the staff of their American lawmakers, to tell them about the problems faced by the EB-immigrant community due to backlogs and insanely low visa numbers for EB-greencards.
You can't get more American than this.
My experience with the meetings with the lawmakers' staff has been very positive. I approached it with nervousness; however, the staff has ALWAYS been extremely polite, sincere and encouraging. They listen to us, and engage in meaningful discussions and question answer sessions with us. Quite often, we are told that this was the first time that our point of view was being told to them. We ask them what advice they have for us. And they all ALWAYS tell us to (a) talk to other lawmakers and (b) call them frequently, as they provide daily totals and tallys on pro-vs-anti calls on different issues to their bosses.
So folks. We still have time. We have a few weeks. Please (a) join together and form state chapters, (b) educate yourself, (c) call the lawmakers offices (d) meet the lawmakers and (e) do all this within the next few days.
Too often we take a fatalistic approach towards issues. Other times, nervousness and fear renders us incapacitated. Be proud of the fact that we are a diverse group of high-skilled immigrants. We are educated professionals. We are doctors, engineers, scientists, and other professionals.
It is our duty, as intelligent and educated professionals, to tell the lawmakers that we are facing problems, and to request them to fix those problems, since they have the power to do so.

Hi,
I have a pretty simple question.
A person decides to change employers, moving from company A to company B. It's been 180 days after 485 filing.
Question: what does company B have to do to legally take this person on as full time employee? Is the process any different than taking any other american resident employee? The way I understand is it is not any different.
Please advise,
Thanks,
Vlad

Great news for EB2 India.
As expected, this will clear out early 2006 cases.
Also note that now EB2 India and China has same PD and that means EB2 China may consume some of the spillover (or fall down/across) numbers.
Good Luck to every one....:)

1) I got my first H-1 on 10/01/2006 ( I-29 date). When is the latest I should renew my H-1B visa
Earliest date to apply for a renewal - 04/01/2009
Latest date to apply for a renewal - 09/30/2009
2) I was a July filer and my wife is already using EAD (business). Does it make sense to renew her H-4 as well
No it does not unless she wants to fall back on her H4 status, in my case, the lawyers only extended my H1B, my wife's on AOS pending status.
3) I was going to apply for AP for my wife? Will I loose my H-1 if I apply AP for myself too
No, your AP has no connection to your H1B.

The Job description that my employer used in LC a little different than my actual skills - i mean say the LC job desc is "Java-Jsp-Servlets -XML" and my actual desc is "Oracle - Datawarehouse - XML "
Do you think USCIS with reject my case because i changed my Employer ????
Thanks
My friend used AC21. He switched jobs after 6 months of filing for 485. He had a query on his 485 seeking experience letters for previous and current employment. He filed those and his 485 approved.

Immigration Visa Attorney Blog Has Just Posted the Following:
http://www.immigrationvisaattorneyblog.com/177934_bus_queue_v.jpgMajor news for relatives of legal permanent residents who have been patiently waiting for their petitions to become current. The Department of State reported in the September 2010 visa bulletin (http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5113.html) that applicants who are spouses or children of greencard holders (filed as late as January 1, 2010) can now be processed for greencards. This is true for applicants from all countries except Mexico and the Dominican Republic, whose priority dates aren't far behind either: January 1, 2009.
What is a a "priority date," you ask? A "priority date" is a legal term of art that can be exceedingly hard to explain (especially in a blog), but I'll try. Let's start with basics. There is a quota on how many immigrants can come legally to the country per year. Imagine the quota like it is a long line of people lining up for a greencard. The people at the front of the line are those whose relative petitions were filed earliest, ie those with the earliest "priority date." A priority date is established on the date that your petition is received by the USCIS. Of course, the earlier your priority date, the sooner you can later ask for greencard status. Generally, priority dates always move forward, but these dates can also go backwards, and if applications aren't received by USCIS before this "retrogression" happens, applicants are back to the waiting game.
In the past month, the (F2A) priority date in the the family-based second preference category (ie for spouses and children of greencard holders) advanced from March 2009 to January 2010! This has made an incredible difference to those who have been waiting to be reunited with their spouses and children, rather than expecting a year or more of wait, this category of new immigrants can now start processing their greencard applications. If you would like assistance in making sure that your application can be made as quickly as possible, contact the attorneys at Fong & Chun, LLP before those dates retrogress. --ecf

That's great news - IV's efforts are paying off now. Not sure if they give two years for all EAD's applications (either renewal or new) that are currently pending. Now I wish my application will get a bit delayed in processing :)
Anyway its a good news that they are starting it from June end.

Hello, I have a question I hope someone is able to answer :)
Suppose my priority dates gets current for a certain month and therefore I apply for adjustment of status (I-485) and a EAD card for my wife (I-765). If the next visa bulletin retrogresses my priority date and it is no longer current, does that also freeze the I-765 processing, or would my wife get the EAD even if my priority date is no longer current?
Thanks.
If you do not file for EAD along with the I-485 application, you can apply for EAD at any time after filing the I-485. I filed my I-485 during the July 2007 rush but did not file for EAD at that time as my H1 was valid till June 2008. I applied for my EAD only in March 2008 - when my dates were not current - and I got my EAD after 50 days.

You think the quota this coming year will be exhausted on 1st April itself? Or do you guess that its going take longer, if not as long as this past year?

I had my parents and my grandmom visit me last year. All three of them went together for the visa interview at Delhi. The only question the officer asked my father was - Why do you want to take your Mom to visit the US 'now'? and my dad replied, 'If I do not take her now, when will I take her?'. They all got a 10 year visa.
Hope that helps,
All the best!
