I have a curious situation. I have filed EB3-485 as a secondary applicant to my wife. I am currently in a job where I can't file a green card ( this is my 5th year of H1b). My understanding is one can't have a seventh year extension for H1b unless his I-140 is approved.
Should I consider changing the job and filing another GC by myself. I know I can continue renewing EAD but I still want to keep my H1b
Thanks
Just apply for labor and once the labor is approved apply for I140 (Apply in premium if USCIS starts accepting premium by the time your labor is approved). If premium is not started by the time your labor is approved then apply I140 in regular and wait for premium to start. you can change your I140 Application to premium even though you filed it in regular processing originally.
Who knows you might get the I140 approval in regular processing also before your 6 years is complete.
just do what you can

Did you ever used EAD? Just getting an EAD does not mean you were on EAD.
Also AP does not invilidate your H1. If you are working with the H1 sponsoring employer and never used EAD, then you need not worry.

Better ask your current employer for extension in August (as your H1 is expiring in Sept last week). But we never know about full time jobs and offer can go either way in last minute. So, keep in loop the current employer. If you won't get full time offer by July end, start process with current employer.

Child Protection Act is based on I-140 timing. If by the time of applying for I-140 your son got 21 then no-chance, it's not applicable. If not then some calculation is needed.
When did they apply for I-140. How old was your son at that time? When was it approved?

AILA Leadership Has Just Posted the Following:
As many regular readers of this blog know, I am impressed by the amazing work of Vivek Wadhwa, research associate at Harvard, and an entrepreneur in residence at Duke. This week his most recently published article, The University Of Competition (http://www.outlookindia.com/full.asp?fodname=20090622&fname=GCol+Vivek+Wadhwa+(F)&sid=1), in Outlook India, points out the obvious--"with its flawed immigration policies, the U.S. has exported part of its economic stimulus and is providing a windfall of premium talent to these countries (India and China)."
Vivek also appeared in a NPR's Marketplace segment on how sophisticated engineering jobs are disappearing from the U.S. and moving to India (http://marketplace.publicradio.org/www_publicradio/tools/media_player/popup.php?name=marketplace/pm/2009/06/17/marketplace_cast2_20090617_64). The report by Janet Babin starts with an unemployed Silicon Valley engineer and ends with Wim Elfrink Ciscos Chief Globalization Officer who is based in Bangalore. In that piece, Vivek discusses how the world has changed and how companies now need to be near growth markets.
This pieces and other recent pieces show that plodding ideas about commissions and study groups to recommend visa numbers are relics of a past age. The question is, will Congress act quickly enough on immigration reform to actually make a difference in helping our economy recover. Every immigration lawyer knows these simple truths--lazy people do not walk across the desert. And, its corollary--the Hope that is American attracts those willing to work hard to succeed. Well, the former principle is still true, at least for now. The latter is giving way to hopelessness--backlogged visa numbers ("encased in amber"), and a growing and vibrant economy in China and India. The failure to act quickly is going to cost America in the long run. Let's pray someone in the White House and on Capitol starts this immigration reform discussion moving before it is too late.https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/186823568153827945-2392842088350390333?l=ailaleadership.blogspot.com

I had to look up the meaning of WPF :)
No - I'm using VS 2005 .NET. It is a standard Windows Application Form in C#.
The combo box selected index value change causes 2 panes to change. The one pane allows the user to Update information of the Item in the selected index. The other pane displays all database elements FKeying to that item.
So sometimes the user may update the portion of the information that is set as DisplayValue in the combobox. The object itself is updated, but the combobox text remains as the old value.
I'm essentially looking for a best practice in doing this. Whenever updating a member of the combobox should I rebind the datasource? I tried using the Refresh() and Update() methods but they do not update the display value.

rajpatelemail,
U said it right, I dont know why IV admin/moderators keep allowing such abusive language in the IV forum.
IV forum is suppose to help legal immigrants dealing with different immigration related situations, instead now its turning into the forum where people started hatred.
IV admin please intervene and stop these kind of posting, which hurts IV's cause.

Dear Attorney,
Is there any minimum length of time to be on H4 before applying to H1.
Thanks
There is no minimum requirement to be on H4 for COS to H1. One should meet H1 application requirements and the cap should be available and should have maintained legal status
BTW, I am not an attorney.

This rose bloom stood out so well against the foliage background, that I thought I'd try a little different composition in which the main subject is a small part of the frame. Does this composition work or does it need to be cropped?

$930 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $1,010. Exceptions listed below. There is no fee for applicants who are filing Form I-485 based on having been admitted to the United States as a refugee. Applicants 80 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930. Applicants under 14 years of age: - Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $600 - Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $930
I would assume that EAD and AP have to be paid for separately.
